FAQ
Print resolution questions
- What DPI do I need for DTF transfers?
- 300 DPI at the final print size is ideal. Between 150 and 300 DPI is usually fine for bold shapes but fine lines and small text can look soft; under 150 DPI tends to print blurry or pixelated. Vector files (SVG, PDF, AI) are sharp at any size.
- How do I work out an image's DPI?
- Divide the image width in pixels by the print width in inches. A 3,300-pixel-wide PNG printed 11″ wide is 300 DPI; the same file printed 22″ wide is 150 DPI. This checker does the maths for you at any width.
- How many pixels does my file need?
- At 300 DPI: 1,050 px wide for a 3.5″ left-chest logo, 3,300 px for an 11″ full front and 3,600 px for a 12″ full back. Our sheets print up to 21.5″ wide (6,450 px).
- Can I fix a low-resolution logo by enlarging it?
- Upscaling in an editor adds pixels but not detail, so edges stay soft. The best fix is the original file from whoever made the logo, ideally a vector (SVG, PDF or AI). If you only have a small image, print it smaller.
- Is my artwork uploaded when I check it?
- No. The checker reads the file on your device to find its size and background, and nothing is sent to our servers. You only upload artwork when you build a gang sheet or place an order.
